It depends on the person, I like to get to know someone before I date them putting them first, not because I don't feel like I could relate, but my good time can come from just being around people that I like, however many others aren't this way, I can have fun practically anywhere. Though I'm a reserved individual I love to be outspoken when it's the time and place. Normal style dating isn't for me really, I tend to spoil my friends when I can (according to my financial plan), but I really don't like being pampered either, so back to the question at hand I suppose my ideal first date would just be a place where I could get to know others better, no pressure in terms of money/spending or "other" things.
