So it's three years and a month ago and I've just picked myself up from the pavement and the second knockback of the first week of March. They disappear. Three hours later I'm in the kitchen with this girl, this girl I'm in love with, this girl who stuck a mickey mouse plaster on my forehead and held my hand through right through Emmerdale and even a little bit into Coronation Street.

I'll sit and watch her mascara stick and unstick as she pretends to get emotional over the music. We both think we should cry, we try and I don't look at her. My fingers clasp around her's tighter and we sit and blink and listen and watch and wait for her lover to get home.

The door slammed and I looked at the floor, watching those size nines stamp all over it angrily, desperately.

That boy had his hand dropped and his heart broken, sat with his wet look hair on that blue chair and listened to a thousand hellos a thousand conversations and a thousand goodbyes. He'd stood up and hurried home, head craned to the girl walking beside him, ahead of him, beside him, ahead of him; face beaming and screaming and laughing and pleasing.

His hair is five shades brighter and his waist is three inches smaller but he's still the boy who falls in love with falling in love, still the boy who stays up all night, just thinking about how wonderful it would all be if it was all different. The boy who cries at empty rooftops and who gets in fights for no reason. Who will forgive infidelity but will hold your hand until you can't forgive yourself.
I also make a terrible first impression, but you probably guessed that.
